Abstract

Almighty Allah reveals the holy Quran to his messenger Muhammad (S.A.W) through angel Jibril (A.S). The prophet received and learned the recitation of the Holy Quran from Jibril, then companions learned from the prophet, then the successors from companions. The process continued like that. Muslim jurist unanimously agreed that no one should recite the holy Quran until he learned from a qualified teacher. The researcher, considering his vast experience in teaching the Quran identified many mistakes made by some Muslims in reciting the holy Quran including Imams and students. The aim of this research is to identify these mistakes, and bring it out to advise these Imams and learners. The scholars of Quranic recitation categorized the mistakes into clear and unclear mistakes. About thirty-five mistakes were identified in this chapter, with thirty-four being clear mistakes, and only one is unclear.
